Experience Camp A Cappella

Breakfast and Morning Meeting

Campers start their day waking up in the college dorms or arriving on campus after being dropped off by a parent or guardian. All meals are provided at camp, and the day begins with breakfast followed by a morning meeting, where the entire camp gathers together to kick things off. Announcements, warm-ups, and a little early-morning singing help set the tone for an exciting day of music and community.

AcaMajors and AcaSamplers

Campers attend specialized classes designed to grow their musical skills and creativity. AcaMajors are focused classes where campers dive deeper into areas like vocal percussion, solo singing, arranging, choreography, recording, and more. AcaSamplers are shorter workshops that introduce campers to new ideas and techniques from across the a cappella world, giving them the chance to explore different skills while learning directly from experienced instructors and professional performers.

Small Group Rehearsals

Campers start their day waking up in the college dorms or arriving on campus after being dropped off by a parent or guardian. All meals are provided at camp, and the day begins with breakfast followed by a morning meeting, where the entire camp gathers together to kick things off. Announcements, warm-ups, and a little early-morning singing help set the tone for an exciting day of music and community.

Large Group Rehearsals

In addition to their small ensembles, all campers come together to rehearse as a Large Group. These rehearsals focus on a big collaborative arrangement that will be performed at the final concert. Singing as a full camp creates an exciting, powerful sound and gives campers the experience of performing in a large vocal ensemble while still maintaining the energy and style of contemporary a cappella.

Evening Showcases and Pro Concerts

Evenings at Camp A Cappella feature exciting showcase performances from professional a cappella groups and guest artists. Campers get to see top performers from the contemporary vocal music world up close, experiencing what high-level a cappella looks and sounds like on stage. These concerts are inspiring, entertaining, and often include time for campers to interact with the performers.

Nightly Social Hours

After the evening performances, campers gather for Social Hour, a relaxed time to hang out with friends, sing tags, share pizza, and enjoy the community that forms during the week. These late-night moments are often campers’ favorite memories, filled with spontaneous music, laughter, and bonding with singers who share the same passion.

The Annual AcaOlympics

Once during the week, the normal evening concert is replaced by the legendary AcaOlympics. Campers participate in fun and creative competitions like mystery solos, tag singing challenges, and other musical games. It’s a high-energy night filled with laughter, friendly competition, and plenty of unexpected musical moments.

Camper Showcase and Final Performance

At the end of the week, campers take the stage for the Camper Showcase and Final Performance. Each Small Group performs the song they have been rehearsing all week, and the entire camp comes together to present the Large Group number. The final concert celebrates the growth, creativity, and friendships built during the week, giving campers the chance to perform on a professional stage for family, friends, and the camp community.
